Hello Troop 3,
Since we went Camp Billy Gibbons, and our families were not able to come to camp for Friday dinner, we will have the Summer Court of Honor this Saturday, September 14th, 2019.
The COH will be held at the St. Paul Wesley Hall and kitchen. Families, friends, and guests need to start arriving at 5:00 PM, and we hope to start around 5:30 PM.
For those of you who are new to Scouting, in the Boy Scouts of America a Court of Honor (COH) is a formal troop ceremony usually held quarterly (and intermittently upon conferment of Eagle Scout rank) where Scouts and their families come together to receive rank advancement, merit badges, and other awards. It is also important for Scouts to participate in a court of honor because it counts towards the Second Class requirement 3a and First Class requirement 3.0. It is not a regular troop meeting. In Troop 3 we normally have a family supplied potluck meal during the COH.
The format for the dinner is sandwiches, chips and dips, salads (hot or cold) and desserts.
Each family brings enough of their favorite sandwiches, chips and dips, salad and dessert, to feed their family plus one or two more people.
The Troop will supply the flatware, plates, cups, tea and lemonade, etc.
Scouts need to arrive in FULL Scout uniform (Clean and pressed Scout shirt, Scout pants, or nice jeans, WITH a belt, T3 neckerchief, Merit badge sash if you have one, and O.A. sash if you have one).
The SPL, ASPL, and Patrol Leader need to be there at 4:00 PM, to help with the setup. The rest of the Troop needs to show up when their families come at 5:00 PM.
If you have any questions, please call Myron.
Yours in Scouting,
Boy Scout Troop 3
